What a weeknd...

Full of highs and lows and many stresses and strains as we spend yet another weekend working on the kitchen... we are slowly getting there but its very slow... the last stumbling block is the sink area and I need to track down a plumber...

Mr P has been scraping more rubberised kitchen paint off the walls (you can't paint over the bloomin' stuff!) and I have been promising him that the amount of storage space I have will be ample and if I can't find it a home then I obviously don't need it! lol

Friday, Saturday and Sunday were not the best of days... Friday and Saturday saw me suffering an anxiety attack manifesting itself and chest pains and feeling awful... and Sunday saw Mr P with a headache that drove him to bed.... I think its natures way of telling me to get out of the house and for us both to chill out... So I dropped the children off at my Mum and Dads and drove to my good friend (Joannes) house and spent a few hours chilling out and watching Sex and the city dvd's...

Its been a particularly stressful few days as his employer has been laying off contractors and Friday was the last working day of Mr P's Contract and they were stalling telling them if they should come back Tuesday... but by 11am Friday I had an email to say his contract had been extended till the end of June and so it begins again... one fellow contractor in the office was not so lucky and 1 or 2 more will have to go at the end of June... the downside of being a contractor...

I will take some photo's once I have cleared the debris of this weekends work... I am off to Cattistock today to pick up some Ercol fireside chairs I bought on eBay... I am not even sure if they'll fit in the car ;D

and on the first day of the school holidays its raining!
yay!

Feeling a little better today and I am looking forward to getting out with out the children again... I think I need space and me time...

take care everyone and I hope I haven't bored you to death with my less than exciting weekend... lol

I will get photo's taken this week of all the lovely gifts I have received so far this year and the kitchen makeover as it hopefully nears its end!

x Alex

Your post sounds pretty much like my life at the moment, so many things to post and share, but never enough time to *actually get them written down*!

Raining here too, first 'real' day of half term so I am expecting lots of 'I wanna play outside' whines today while the kids attempt to entertain themselves with the million and one toys they each have!

That is great that Mr P's contract has been extended, I bet that was a relief for you. Things are really bad here as P can barely walk, let alone ride his bike at the moment, so well, to be honest we are trying to contemplate the future. A nice lottery win would be good, don't you think?

So much needs doing, and no pennies to do any of it :o(

Catch up with you soon. Hugs xxxxx

Oh dear, sounds as if you all need a break, you poor dears. It is not good when you get so stressed out that your health is affected. Out all the jobs on hold for a while, and take some time to do the things that make you happy.
I hope all goes well for you. :) xxx

No you have not bored me to death! Silly Billy! I am still waiting for my kitchen makeover to start, and not looking forward to all the disruption at all! Need a plumber too, it is hard to know who to get, that will be good and not too expensive.
I am sorry to hear of your stresses, yes, you need to give yourself a bit more me time, and step back when you can. I used to suffer from horrendous panic attacks, so I sympathise completely, they are awful! Sometimes all those worries bunch up together and get too much. You did the right thing, going to your friends and relaxing a bit. Contracting sounds very stressful too, and must be on your mind a lot too.
Gosh I hope you get those chairs into your car alright, I have this image in my head now,of one on the top of the car like the Beverley Hillbillies! Ha ha! Look forward to seeing your photos! Have a good week Alex! Suzie xxxx

Time to yourself should be prescribed on a weekly basis.

Fingers crossed for the rest of the week you won't be the tree ;) xx

Oh Goodness no wonder you're having anxiety attacks you have enough stressors :-( I so understand your kitchen nighmare I've been in the same position for about 3 years ongoing renovation turning 4 rooms into 1 mega kitchen, re-roofing, taking a chimney out and it still isn't finished. I now refer to OH as cowboy DIYer given it's 3 years and not complete.
Get yourself a huge glass of wine and have a good soak in Epsom Salts bath and chill :-)

The kitchen will be worth it in the end. Just allow yourself to walk away sometimes. :O)
