I have a new man in my life... well I think its a man!

I would like you all to meet Louie.....
Now the lady that was giving them away in our village has informed me that this little kitty cat is a boy... I am not overly sure but I am sure the vet will let me know when I take him over for his check up and eventually his jabs...

When I was growing up we either had 2 dogs and one cat then one dog and two cats then 2 dogs and 3 cats so I am quiet at home with pets...

and I very nearly had 2 of the 3 kittens that the lady was keen to get rid of...

Louie is technically Jamie's kitten.. and I really do try not to handle him too much but he's sooooo cute and I find my stressed out mind and soul quietens when I comfort his plaintiff cries...

He's a real time waster and a complete monkey...

Mr P is not overly keen on cats... I am not sure why as he had cats as a child but he has made no effort to be nice to him.. but that doesn't worry me as he can sit in the lounge and make a fuss of the dog!..

Smudge (our 4 year old Springador) however looks at Louie while licking his lips...

I am not sure how their friendship will grow...
hopefully as Louie gets older he'll put the dog in its place much like our old ginger tom did with our Springer spaniel when I was a youngster... that was so funny to watch..
So I have another 3 weeks of a housebound kitten to endure, I think I am going to have to make or get some more toys... mind you he plays with absolutely everything...

I am thinking of getting one of those cat towers with a platform at the top as he seems to like sleeping at night on top of the fireguard in the kitchen..

the fireguard was put in the kitchen to give him a safe haven from the dog but after their first enitial meeting the dog is in the lounge! lots of hissing and smudge getting very aggressive..

what kind of cat stations do you all think are good?

Well I had better get on.... Danny has had a bout of sickness this morning.. he seems to be rounding the corner and eating so hopefully he'll be fine by tea time...

take care everyone and this is post 97...

only 3 more to go till giveaway time...

Summer Fete this weekend and the vice Chair fell of a chair and dislocated her ankle and broke her foot... she's now in a wheelchair! so all in all it all going really well...

pass me the kitten I am getting stressed! ;D

x Alex

Aww sounds like you are having a tough time of it (I'll reply to your e-mail later today).

Louie is soooo sweet, haha you backed down in the end, eh? Think the fish option might have been a bit safer! Unfortunately, our kitty is not peaceful at all. The older two cats ignore her, but Beano, our usually calm two year old cat has retreated back to childhood and spends LITERALLY the whole day chasing her round the house! Great fun.

We don't have a cat station, just a scratch pole, but with a dog in your house, you might want to cinsider getting something for her? BUT FOR GOODNESS SAKE CHECK THE PRICES IN MORE THAN ONE SHOP. lol (Try to avoid Dick Turpin's Pet Supplies aka Pets At Home).

Hugs xx

Absolutely gorgeous... having had to have our beloved cat put to sleep a couple of months ago, I am hankering for a cat, and the sight of this kitten of yours...I can imagine sitting and stroking him, the BP getting lower and lower....zzzz

We once got a cat and were told it was a he. Then it began to gain weight and the vet still maintained it was a he, just growing. Then it got a real little pot on it, and then... out popped six of the most gorgeous kittens. We had called her Charlie, and that's what she remained.
I'm with smiler on the play station... look around, have a look at Argos, they do stuff like that perhaps and are having an end of catalogue sale. I wouldn't buy off Ebay, even if they say it's as new, animals may have been near it and left visitors or something nasty!

Louie is adorable, I love him. I bet the kiddies are thrilled to have him. I'm sure he will adjust soon to the doggie and they'll either be the best of friends or they'll just ignore one another, ours do. Watch the breakables when he gets a little bigger, our two can be quite the little terrorists at night. hee hee!!
Hope the little guy gets to feeling better soon.

awww, Hi Louie.
Kitt has two places where she sleeps, her cat basket downstairs in the back porch and upstairs in her igloo(we bought her for her birthday) both pics are on the blog somewhere and they are both on top of wooden and plastic storage boxes and she seems happy with that and last week we bought her a radiator bed but that was a bit flimsy but I just added some extra material to strengthen it and she has been sitting in it

oooh Alex, how gorgeous is little Louie!!
Kittens have to be the most adorable of all baby animals there is no doubt at all.
Give him a big hug from me and make the most of your 3 weeks of enforced kitten tending. :-)
Happy days

Aww cute cat, but my two dogs would do more than lick their lips I'm afraid.
My ex grew up with cats too but has always refused to let the small people have one.... very odd. It must be a man thing.
Hope you get in lots of fur stroking time - it's good for the heart ;)

Kittens give hours of endless fun, don't they? I once had a pair together and the chaos!!! (Well worth it, incidentally). x

Hello Again!
This may be tricky for you, but thought I'd keep you up to date:
I'm visiting everyone who showed an interest in Afternoon Tea. I have provisionally booked The Bath Priory for 4pm on Friday 17th July. Can you let me know if this suits you? I will need to confirm numbers with the hotel one week before.
I shall post a short blog entry just to make sure everyone has the details!
Have a super weekend.

Hi Alex

Louie is gorgeous! Lucky you!

I hope you are ok, you sounded a bit fed up a couple of weeks ago?

I wont be around for a week - going on holiday! Having a huge panic about the aeroplane at the moment!

((hugs)) for you and Louie!

Awww...welcome to the world, little Louie!!!

My cat station is my entire house. They seem to find plenty to do. Just ask my couches!
(altho, who knows what you call your 'couches' over there...sofas, davenports, what? I notice you have a 'lounge' where we have a living room or maybe a family room. )
Interesting stuff !!
