Its not my fault....honest!

Its the snow and the lack of sunshine... it made me do it!

I was just looking I didn't even realise I hit "add to basket" and goodness only knows how I got through entering my card details and completed the transaction... I must have been hypnotised!
Amazon needs constant adult supervision.... I need someone with a ruler sitting next to me slapping my knuckles every time I try to place it in that naughty basket!

it is true I have no willpower... hence my size... hence my dreary hairdo.... and the parcels that are due to pop through my door in the next few days!

Would you like to see what I couldn't resist?

you would!

then take a look below!

I would like a spring decorated Easter house this year and this book called to me....

I popped over to Patchwork Pottery and I noticed she has work in some of these books, instead of buying them from Canada I decided to check if they were in amazon...

So I bought 3, my mum always says buy in threes.... mind you I think she actually meant buy three plants and plant them in the garden in threes to make a better display... but I am sure it can be transferred to other daily activities.... always eat 3 cookies.... always have 3 marshmallows in your hot chocolate... etc

Now this book was advertised in my Crochet World Magazine (that I get the newsagent to order for me, it American but I can swap between English and American crochet quite easily) and I loved those slippers that are on the front...

and who doesn't like itty bitty animals...

and I know many of you already have this book but I am hoping that there will be some little (easy) gift ideas in here... I am not an accomplished sewing machine user and I thought if I start now perhaps by the time I start making for Christmas I will be more at home with my machine...

So that's my lot....

I feel better for confessing my naughty spending spree... next I am on the look out for a new sewing box... but that needs to be thrift'd or second hand... I am looking for something that was once loved and used by an accomplished stitcher... and perhaps a little of his or her skills will still be in the box when I get it! lol

Thanks for all the lovely comments on my posts
I do love reading your kind words, I think I have more friends in the rest of the world than I do right here where I live...
thank you, you're all so special to me and I send big hugs to you all

Take care
Alex

You naughty girl, I'll be over for a cuppa and a looky through them. They all look very inviting. I may just have to have a peak at amazon a girl needs to treart herself now and again.

Hope to see you later, god I hope so I'm having a real bad day.

Funny how one book leads to another, to another.... but what the heck!

Great splurge! It happened to me the other day, too. Amazon is just TOO easy and also very cleverly marketed.

Your books do look fantastic. My boys both have crocheted slippers (not made by me) and they are very simple and manly - I'd love to have some of those cute ones, though.

What a fantastic shopping spree! A girl has just got to spoil herself once in a while ~ Hasn't she?! I'm just about to pop over to Amazon and add a few of those wonderful books to my wish list :O) x

I think the problem with Amazon is the way it stores your card details so you don't even have to enter them again and thus you buy things almost without realizing it. Click on checkout and suddenly before you know it, the books are on their way - none of the checking and are you sure? of most websites, which give you time to turn back!

The worst thing is when you go onto a site that you have previously been on before and it's STORED your card details....you don't even need to get your purse out! :o) Oops.

I tend to do this when I am bored, which being stuck in the house, because of the *stupid* ICE now, not SNOW is quite often. I must stop this.

And yes, I totally know what you mean about having more friends online than in 'REAL LIFE'. Although it is kinda sad....don't you think?

Great books. I hope they keep you busy!

Sending you lots of love xx

Hi Alex
Wow, look at you getting ahead with the Easter/warmer months projects! I am impressed with your purchases and I hope you will be sharing your creations with us some time soon.
Threes .... yes always works in all matters - like you I tend to purchase in 3's.... 3 tins of beans... 3 pairs of tights... 3 cyclamen plants....
How's your snow by the way?
Take care

Amazon is very dangerous...especially when I know that if I spend $25 I can most likely get free shipping...
Love your choices!!!!
Enjoy your naughty treat!

Re your comment on my blog, my dream car has always been an old green Defender (short wheelbase), but due to physical issues I now have to drive an automatic, which means a Freelander. However, I do love its heated seats and it is very easy to drive and park - and I still have my dream. If ever we have enough money for a second car, I am determined it will be a Defender, even if I can only be a passenger!

Alex,
The 'blanket' is actually just a baby genius burp cloth from 'Mason-Dixon Knitting'. One skein of peaches-n-creme cotton yarn and some loose knitting made it wide rather than long like they show in the book...thinking about it every one of mine has ended up opposite of the book, but they work great and soak up a fair amout :) I'm pretty sure you can find this on ravelry which will give you links to the stuff :)

Any my husband was all for my joining the mothering swap, his comment was that we are under-rated and under-appreciated (my attempts at keeping our new chaos at bay are greatly appreciated with his crazy work schedule). I already know what I will be making, just not the color and the rest depends on who I get :)

Hugs,
Jenn
