Mr P emailed me yesterday asking if I needed him to get anything on the way home... I had run out of tissues so I asked him to get some nice ones to calm my bright red sniffler...

I also requested some energy and a miracle cure for this horrible head cold... he wasn't sure if the little Tesco's that he passes on the way home had either but he'd take a look...

The chocolate is for energy and the whiskey is the miracle cure....
Nurofen is my drug of choice and lovely soft tissues for my delicate little nose... and I can tell you there is little delicate about my family nose and you sure can pack a load of yuck into my beak...

Today is Jamie's birthday and I have arranged to take her and a friend to town shopping and then onto the cinema where they will be watching The Lightening Thief and Joanne and I will be watching Valentines Day.... well Joanne will be watching and I will be quietly sniffing... ;D

we are then going to Pizza Hut for our tea... then home again

Mr P asked last night if I were really going out today in the state I am in... I pointed out that I had little choice as it was all booked and its her 12th birthday and unfair to cancel... he said he could go instead... where upon I giggled and said that I didn't think Joannes husband would be too chuffed if he took her to the cinema to watch Valentines Day... because I know how much Joanne is looking forward to a day out and to be honest I am relishing the thought of being out and not responsible for a investigative 4 year old... who seems to be climbing everything at the moment.... no... come hell or high water

"I am going out today, and I am going to have a ruddy good time"

whatever the head cold from hell thinks... I will be eating hot dogs (don't tell me what they are made from!!) and drinking fizzy but I might miss the popcorn... it makes me cough when I am not ill... lol

So I hope you all have lovely weekends

Keep warm, well and safe

x Alex

Hope you are feeling better. I was doing very well tonight, I reisted to run down the road before the shop shut. I told myself I don't need chocolate.......The first thing I see when I check out all the blogs - chocolate and the shop is now shut, I suppose I could drive 15 miles in the storm to the next town and try and catch the late store or I might just sit here and keep looking at the bars of galaxy and aero.

oh my dearest friend the lengths you will go to to.
I hope today will be a joy for both of us and not just you picking me up of the ground again.
One day when I've taken the right path I hope I can be as good a friend to you as you are to me.

The way you wrote this made me roar with laughter. Not AT you but because of the fact that even whilst feeling awful you could write with such humour! I hope you all manage to have a wonderful time. Get well soon Alex. :O)

Happy birthday Jaime!
And I hope you and Joanne had a great time out today, head cold and all! I get to escape tomorrow for a couple of hours at a friend's with just us, Erik and some yarn. I love my grandma for taking the girls tomorrow for those couple of hours.

Hugs,
Jenn

Oh you poor thing. I'm just getting over my stinky cold - hope you didn't catch it from my blog!

We enjoyed a half-term Pizza Hut tea for a treat too, hope you had a good time.

Now curl up, stay cosy and hope you feel better soon.

Hope you all had a good time! Nasty cold! And no!...try not to think of the contents of a hotdog! I was really looking forward to mine last time we went to the cinema, and George had to bring that up when we were in the queue, so It put me right off and I ended up just having nachos instead. suzie. xxx

The Dr Brown's was gorgeous and I'd have brought a suitcase of it home if I could have :)
Me and the ex shared that cheesecake and we barely made a dent in it before we had to admit defeat!
You'd love New York, all those craft shops ;) If you need a travelling companion I'm willing x

I know exactly what you mean about the honker and how much it can pack. I think I have one of those too but the one thing that always gets me is when it goes red and raw around the nostrils. My grandmother taught me a trick to keep the old schnoze from going red and raw and it even works when it's reached the red raw stage. If you have anything like Vicks vapurub around, dab a bit of that around each nostril and inhale. It will make your nose say thank you after doing that a couple of times. :) Hope you had a blast at the movies, pizza hut and your friend :)

OMG! You weren't kidding when you said you have Gambit's double at your house!
I did a double take when I looked at Louie's picture. Gambit is named after the x-men character Rémy LeBeau. One of my husband's favorite characters along with Rogue.
With names like Louie and Rémy, our boys might just pass for New Orleans kitties LOL

Your day out should be done and dusted as you read this and I hope you survived and enjoyed it. Its miserable when you are feeling under the weather but I'm sure it did you the world of good. Horrible snow here again this morning where oh where is the Spring.
