I popped over to a new blog I have been reading at Simple, Green, Frugal Co-op as suggested to me by Jenn and while I was reading through the comments for her fabulous crust less quiche recipe a fellow commenter mentioned the Pacific garbage patch.... Ii was intrigued and plopped it into google to take a look.... our planet is so much more messed up than any of us could possibly believe...
Captain Charles Moore has been sailing through this plastic waste and is trying to raise peoples awareness to the problems... I know that this ocean is not on our doorstep here in England but perhaps this is one of those things that will stick in the back of your mind the next time you pick up a plastic item... and perhaps pick the planet friendlier option, if one exists.

I am not perfect, I buy as much rubbish as everyone else but I see the need to change and I hope this is the first step in a better direction

Wow, that is shocking viewing. I'm going to put the link on TLBG. It does feel like nothing we can do as individuals will make a difference, but if enough people see stuff like that, then maybe we can change things. Thanks for sharing.

I am horrified by the video content - the pictures of the birds are so shocking. We can try to avoid buying plastic but I hope that the corporations responsible for packaging will soon be held accountable for their negligence.

Isn't this sad. For me, it's also a Biblical responsibility to take care of our planet. I think we all fail in this area.
I just finished eating a lobster before watching your video and I had to stop watching 3/4 of the way through because it was making me sick to my stomach. Poor lobster!
