Daisy, Amber and Hettie
 Well hello there ....
How the devil are you today?
Me..... oh I'm fine.... a little tired.... a little fed up.... a little disillusioned by life in general...
don't get me wrong my day to day existence could be much worse and I appreciate that I have so much and that I am well looked after but I just feel like I am missing a part of me... does that make sense?
probably not! ;D

I am just me and I am sure I will work out what I need to accomplish to make myself whole again... perhaps its just our always changing role in life that makes us sometimes loose track of who we are....
I think I miss being a girl friend to Les.... I seem these days to be so busy being a mum and have ended up just being his friend... its probably all my own doing as I fully immersed myself in my new role as mum... but now Daniel is closing in on his fifth birthday I feel that I would like to regain the girl part of our relationship....
oh crikey its all getting a bit deep and mushy! onward and upward... lol

The past couple of days here in the sunny south have begun with very beautiful hoarfrost's and lots of fog...

I decided to snap some piccies of the beautiful frost on the leaves in the garden...

Nature really is beautiful and brutal at the same time...

it looks like jack frost has been practicing his cocktail skill and dipping the edge of all the leaves in sugar!

Well as its a Thursday I headed for the village hall for a cup of coffee with the locals and to meet up with mum and some of her friends... however with the sun trying to burn its way through the fog I thought I would take my camera down to the river just below the hall and see what I could see!

I do love living near the river... I know it means more midges and mosquito's in the summer months but the wildlife that is attracted to the river banks is wonderful to watch...

I have to admit I was unusually quiet at the cafe... I had a lovely cup of coffee and I bought some rock cakes to share with the chickens... I know I'm spoiling them! lol
I bought some strawberry jam for Daniels sandwiches and a card for Jamie to give to her brother for his birthday in 11 days time... I have ordered the cake from the same lady who made my Christmas cake and I think Daniel will be very pleased as its and army cake with a tank and little army men all over it!  I think she's doing hills and camouflage too!
I have no clue what to get him for his birthday... he does keep mentioning a scooby doo game that he's seen advertised and as he loves to have a cup of tea with me I have bought him a china mug with his name on it...
Hettie, daisy and Amber
He's very excited at the moment as I think another hen has started laying eggs... its a darker shade of brown to Daisy's (who has been laying since we took ownership of them!) but Daniel is adamant that the new coloured egg came from his chicken ... Hettie!
It could well be as she has come back to full feathered glory after her moult...

So all in all I am still here... no major reasons for being away for so long just feeling a little blurgh!
Saturday will be a "Me!" day I think ... Les will probably be at the unit (fixing something! lol) and Daniel and Jamie are off to watch Yeovil play football with their Nanny... (well Jamie will probably watch... Daniel has a habit of getting bored and going to sleep!)

Well I had better get off here and get down the garden... Daniel's keeping on at me to go and check the chickens... its become a bit of ritual when her gets home from school... I collected a pale cream coloured egg this morning so its fingers crossed for another tan brown one...

I promise to be back soon with a little more zing in my step
as Wallace says to Gromit "I think the spring has gone from my bungee!"
take care
Alex

I'd been wondering what had happened to you and wheether you were OK. Life is full of ups and downs and I am sure you will get your mojo back soon. Fancy meeting up for a natter or are you glad to chill out at home any time you have a spare moment to yourself? Take care.

Your photos are beautiful!! and I'm so glad you took time to come by and visit my page again!!! Let me just say...we do love being a Mum (giggle) you know I say Mama!! (in my biggest Texas drawl) but girl...you and the hubby should plan a date night, just you and him...it does wonders and we Mums need it from time to time. I was right where you are but pulled myself out and decided to start treating my hubby (of 15 years) like he WAS my boyfriend again....I started flirting with him just like when we were dating...he started flirting back! I started texting him little love notes during the day....he started doing the same AND leaving me little love notes in the morning...I started complimenting him (just like when we were dating) GIRL! It's like we're newlyweds all over again, and I don't plan on letting it get back to the rut we were in...being just parents. It IS funny though...our oldest daughter will say.."GUYS!!! really? get a room!! that's gross!" and that's just from a hug, or a dance in the kitchen...LOL
Enjoy your "me" time too....that ALWAYS helps!! Cheer up Sunshine!!!! and BIG HUGS TO YOU!!!

Lovely photos. Make the most of your little one enjoying a cuppa with Mum, before you know it they will have grown and flown and found some other female to snuggle up to with a cuppa! Hopefully, unlike mine, they won't push you away completely! And you thought your life was crap at times!!!! Don't get me started...
Here's to Spring, your spring returning and zinginess.

Sorry you're feeling a bit "blah" - I agree with Babbs, a date night is a great idea, so long as you can get rid of the kids for the night too and have a nice lie in the next day (wink, wink!)
